English and Scottish Heritages joined together in a beautiful St Salvator’s Chapel’s marriage ceremony
Alex and Rupert had planned the day precisely. The ceremony was originally thought to be located in the stunning gardens of Alex’s family house. The final decision, however, took them to the breath-taking St Salvator’s Chapel at the University of St Andrew’s. Married by a family friend, the Reverend Bobby Anderson, they said ‘I do’ in the presence of their closest friends and family.
A wedding well planned
The day started with a glorious sun and finished with a beautiful sunset, but the afternoon was nothing less from than extraordinary. The couple arranged for their reception to be in the family gardens. DIY outdoor games, sun loungers and ice-cream added to the relaxing and family orientated atmosphere. Once we returned from St Salvator’s Chapel we had some time for our formal wedding photographs. Family and friends cheerful photographs and some more natural wedding photographs of the couple itself. The afternoon was packed with surprises and gave us lots of opportunities to shoot documentary and candid photos. The afternoon was definitely well planned.
Surprise your wedding guests!
The newlyweds entered the gardens through the arch of confetti. This was followed by the speeches and cake cutting. Alex’s brother made the wedding cake. It was most likely one of the tastiest wedding cakes I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a few!). Soon after we could see Alex and Rupert performing their first dance. The wedding band Kilter didn’t leave anyone out. First the parents and bridal party, shortly after the whole wedding was hopping and skipping to the rhythms of Polka and Gay Gordon. Wedding ceilidh is never a bad idea, even if the weather turns and the dancing happens in the biggest downpour of the year. It was incredible how the sky just opened and cried, and cried and cried, but people wouldn’t stop. They just laughed, danced and enjoyed themselves. It seemed like they had the best time of their lives.
Engagement session to start with
You can never go wrong with having an engagement / pre-wedding session taken. It will relax you, it will give you a chance to chat, it will give you this special gallery of the two of you not yet married! Alex and Rupert had their engagement session taken at their home in Cupar. It was in the very early spring when we met for the second time. It was great to have a little walk around the gardens, meet their pups and scout for the best locations for our photographs prior to the wedding.
A WOW factor wedding
Beautifully planned Scottish – English wedding wasn’t spoiled by the biggest down pour of the summer. It was incredible how the party never stopped. The dancing never finished and the rain made everhing more exciting and advenorous. When in Scotland, you play like the Scotts. Go rough, go natural, go wild. The wedding was everything but conventional and surely well remembered by all.
