Fiona and Iain’s wedding day was just perfect. A beautiful end of the summer day, a bit rainy at the start but we knew it would become bright and warm later on. The couple chose the South Dalziel Historic Building wedding venue. The stunning building was quiet, nearly ready for the guests to arrive.
Our photography started at the stunning Dakota Eurocentral in Glasgow. When we arrived the girls were relaxed, sipping bubbly and chatting lively, they cherished every second of the fine morning. The guys, slightly more excited, were in the middle of getting ready… It didn’t take them long to get ready and be on their way to the venue. While Peter, my second shooter, was in charge of documenting the guys’ exciting morning, I was photographing the girls stunning bouquets (seriously, wow to Thistle Flowers by Yvonne MacDonald!), outstanding shoes, jewellery, the gorgeous dresses and the girls themselves!
Fiona and her bridesmaids were nearly ready. The wedding cars arrived when we were taking last portraits. I finished quickly and jumped in the car. The excitement hit. Just a few moments until the big moment. I left the hotel before the girls to catch them arriving at the church. When I arrived Peter was documenting the atmosphere inside the wedding venue. Iain was slightly nervous, as the groom should be. The groomsmen stood by his side, supporting the man of the day.
The ceremony started. Slowly walked in the flower girl, the page boy, bridesmaids then the bride with her brother. Absolutely breathtaking. But the most beautiful thing she had at that moment was her smile. Probably the biggest smile she’d ever had. Happiness, excitement, love… This is it! The best day of their lives. The rest is history, a new chapter they started to write that day…
