It all started with a kiss…
Oh, Paula and Andrew had an absolute blast! Despite coming across as reserved and quiet, they were actually bursting with energy and always up for a good time. These two are always seeking out new adventures and experiences, and together they bring out the best in each other. And let’s not forget that first kiss – it was just the beginning of many more to come! And it all happened at on of the Edinburgh hidden gems McLarens on the Corner Edinburgh.
Golden light Engagement session in the Pentlands
Our story together all started in the Pentland Hills, and let me tell you, it was a dream. We got together for a little autumnal stroll, chat and pre-wedding session at the end of October. The light was soft and warm and the colours of the hills were out of this world. As the sun began to set, Paula and Andrew’s energy levels hit peak levels. It was their first time in front of a professional photographer and shooting together on location, I was expecting them to be a bit camera-shy and reserved (as they had mentioned in their emails and chats before our session), but gosh, was I wrong. We had an absolute blast and ended up with a fabulous gallery of colourful, happy, and all-around awesome engagement photos.
McLarens on the Corner Edinburgh spectacular wedding
The wedding day of Paula and Andrew was not different. Paula got ready at one of The Rutland Hotel & Luxury Apartments in the West End of Edinburgh. The make up and hair was perfectly done by the talented Sharon & Monica at The Madeup team. The bride was rocking the most trendy wedding trainers, decorated for this occasion in small, subtle hearts and meaningful writing. Paula just couldn’t hide her excitement. Her little team of two wonderful bridesmaids cheered her on the way. There was champagne, jumping on the bed, tears of happiness and lots and lots of laughter.
Father of The Bride and the Vintage Lincoln car
Paula decided to get ready in a private room, while her mum and dad were chilling and patiently waiting to see their gorgeous daughter. And let me tell you, that first reveal between the father and daughter had us all in tears. Those tears were quickly followed by a whole lot of happy laughter. They shared a huge hug together, I took a few photos of the bride with the parents and bridesmaids, and before we knew it, we were off to McLarens on the Corner. The groom and all the guests were eagerly awaiting the wedding party’s arrival, and when they did show up, they did it in style – a vintage Lincoln in a beautiful sage green colour.
Groom and Groomsmen
I got to the restaurant before the bride to capture the pre-ceremony atmosphere. Andrew and his squad was already there. Ushering and welcoming their guest to the ceremony room on the first floor! Let me just say, the groom looked absolutely dapper in his velvet suit, crisp white shirt, and slick black bowtie. And of course, his two groomsmen were also looking sharp and had been supporting him since the early hours of the morning. The wedding venue was decked out in gorgeous flowers and we were all buzzing with excitement for the ceremony to kick off.
The rest is history
I guess it is. The ceremony was just wonderful. It was followed by one of the most exciting confetti shots! We then proceeded with family and friends group photographs and some portrait photographs of the bride and groom. The majority of photographs was kept in the most natural and candid style, documenting the day and it came.
Kind words and the couples testimonials
Paula Wilson recommends Iris Art Photography.
“First of all a huge THANK YOU to Justina for everything that she’s done for us since we first spoke last year. From our engagement shoot to meeting up in her own time (to show us wedding albums) was ever a bother and she was always there to answer our questions however big or small they were.
Justina is such a professional in what she does. We hardly noticed her on our wedding day, she just knew where to be. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera having never been in the situation before. Justina’s photos are incredible and it is so clear to see how passionate she is about capturing special moments. She never failed to make us smile (as clearly obvious in our photos). We would recommend Iris Art Photography to anyone and we look forward to working with Justina in the future.
Love, Mr & Mrs Wilson x”
Luxury, hand finished wedding album
The wedding day photography was followed by designing a luxurious and hand finished wedding album for the bride and groom. Paula and Andrew went with a Hunter Green eco leather for their outer cover and they chose around 60 photographs to showcase the story of their incredible day. See the highlights of their wonderful day for yourself!
