St Andrew’s Cathedral, Glasgow wedding ceremony

It was a perfect day for Giancarlo and Mishal. From a sunny and happy morning into a sunny and very happy rest of the day. They said ‘yes’ at the stunning St Andrew’s Cathedral in Glasgow and had the loveliest wedding celebrations at the resort of Mar Hall just outside of Glasgow. Surrounded by their loved ones from Italy, India and Scotland (and some curious tourists), they received their marriage blessings from the Bishop of Motherwell, Joseph Toal. After the emotional and spiritual church service, we gathered the happy couple and the whole wedding party of one hundred and twenty gorgeous guests for an epic group shot just outside of the Cathedral.

The luxurious feel of Mar Hall

A quick few shots of the couple and the wedding cars were ready to take us to the fabulous Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort, a five star luxury hotel overlooking the River Clyde. The party was just about to start… Mouth-watering canopies, glasses of bubbly in the sunny gardens, blissful awaiting… The speeches finally started. First was the Father of the Bride with his emotional speech. Giancarlo was the second to say thanks to everybody and to tell wonderful stories about his new wife. The last to speak was Giancarlo’s brother and his best man on the day – Renz, one of the very popular Scottish magicians. After the excellent speeches, laughs, tears and toasting, the wedding breakfast commenced.

The stunning Scottish sunsets

The evening was young. It was just the start of the summer but somehow the surrounding trees gave us a golden, autumnal feeling. The setting sun and gentle breeze provided us with dreamy settings for our evening formal photographs with the breath-taking couple and their families. We had to rush our photographs a bit as the cake was ready for cutting and the dance floor was ready for dancing! When the most spectacular first dance finished, Giancarlo played a song he wrote for Mishal! It was probably the most romantic moment of the evening. It definitely left Mishal emotional. We absolutely loved capturing the important moments of this beautiful wedding day.

The evening surprise – Traditional Pakistani event

When the traditional Scottish part of the wedding finished, the couple disappeared for a bit to change into their traditional Indian wedding gowns. With drams, singing, dancing and laud applause, they entered once again. Everybody joined in and didn’t stop for a long time. What a fantastic day it was, definitely something to talk about over and over again. Congratulations to the beautiful Mishal and Giancarlo!
Take a look to see what we were honoured to experience!
