Are you planning a wedding in the autumn? Have a look at this beautiful wedding of Beth and Gerard at our Kirknewton Stables wedding photography gallery.
Kirknewton Stables Edinburgh – a wedding venue that is stunning in all seasons. I’ve seen its gardens dressed in many outfits and I can’t really decide which one I like the most. One is certain, I do love Indian Summer! It’s just a blessing to get this one day extra day or two with the summery warmth and sweet energy.
How it all started – Engagement Session Roslin Country Park Edinburgh
We met for a chat roughly around two years before the wedding. We talked about the still (at that moment) very general details, exchanged ideas and sipped a nice coffee. There were many unknowns, but establishing a good cooperation and giving the couple an opportunity to ask questions and raise any photography concerns is very important before the wedding. Our meeting went smoothly. I found Beth and Gerard extremally sweet. After our relaxed chat we all thought we were on the same page with the photography style and approach. They expressed that they were a bit on the shy side in front of the camera, therefore I thought they would really benefit from an engagement session.
We planned our engagement session for the early spring. Trees in blossom, rich greenery, cool breeze, quiet park. Just all we needed! Beth and Gerard were not exactly the biggest of extroverts, but the quiet smiles and gentle touches soon changed into fully blown laughter and pretty confident in-front-of-the-camera performance.
That September Wedding Day
Beth’s parents’ house was quiet. It smelled of freshly cut garden flowers and crisply ironed shirts. While mum and sister were helping with everything else, Beth was relaxing while having her natural make up and hair done by the talented Caroline Stewart Make Up Artist. After the very relaxing bridal preparations morning, we soon were ready to head for the wedding ceremony to the atmospheric St Cuthbert’s Church in the more central part of Edinburgh. for the wedding ceremony.
The church was drawing in glorious light, the groom and his groomsmen were already here. Most of the guests had already arrived and found their comfortable seats. The impatient but excited awaiting for the bridal arrival has begun.
The bride and her bridesmaids, the mother and father of the bride arrived soon after me. I managed to have just enough time to capture the moment of the arrival of the wedding guests, the groom with his groomsmen, flower girls and pageboys. The early afternoon warm September sun was very calming and reassuring. It was going to be a good day!
Kirknewton Stables Wedding Photography
I’d like to say the rest is history, but it’s not quite, without these few extra details. Kirknewton Stables just outside of Edinburgh welcomed us warmly. The tables were set beautifully, decorated with the most natural, sweetly scented wild flowers and personal notes and touches. The sunny autumnal day allowed us to have the drink reception and our formal and informal photographs outside, in the venue’s gardens. Quick ‘cheers’ on the arrival and I stole my couple for a little walk around the stable’s grounds. In this venue you can go absolutely wild with photographs, the quirky beauty of the outdoors and the cool light of the indoors with some added magic of the fairy light add to the wedding day perfectly.
Packages, Packages, Packages
Beth and Gerard decided to go with the Photo Album Package. It included the coverage of the whole wedding day, from the bridal preparations until three first dances, large, luxurious album and an engagement session. The couple was able to choose their own photographs for the album they also chose the newest Elephant Grey Velvet Album Cover.
