Carberry Tower Musselburgh wedding – Sarah and Phil’s
Carberry Tower Musselburgh Magical Wedding
Sarah and Phil got married at the breath-taking Carberry Tower in Musselburgh, just outside of Edinburgh. They are one of those modest couples who don’t like too much attention on them, but enjoy their life in full. Kind-hearted, involved in charity work, keen travellers, with a smile for everyone, nature loving people.
It all started with scuba diving
I’ve known Sarah for years. We met during my scuba diving training in Edinburgh. She was one of my course coaches and leaders. Her Mum – the scuba diving legend and herself would always bring smile and positivity to each session. Suba diving in the murky waters of Loch Lomond, Loch Long, Dunbar or Eyemouth was so much fun, adventurous, challenging sometimes and always cold, but the sessions were filled with laughter and good spirits, finished with a nice tea and cake at a local coffee shop or a warming soup at a pub’s fire place. I stopped diving when I had my first child and with life getting busy, I didn’t get to see Sarah that often.
The Balmoral Hotel Wedding Fair
I was exhibiting at the Luxury Wedding Show at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh when Sarah and her lovely mum came to see me. Quick chat and we got the ball rolling. She came back to me after a short while as decided to go ahead with the Digital Package and an Engagement Session. I couldn’t wait to meet her husband to be and be a part of their beautiful day at the stunning Carberry Tower.
There’s never a bad weather…
Our engagement session was scheduled for May, three months before their wedding. The evening time gave us a flattering glow, but the skies looked angry. When I arrived at the beach it was raining. It eventually stopped, but the backdrop remained dramatic in colours and we just loved it! Meeting Phil for the first time was great. Engagement sessions are always a fantastic opportunity to have a good chat, laugh and a bit of wedding planning. I also met their little Puffin, a sweet little mascot that gets everywhere with them.
She was born from the waves
Phil is one of a kind. He’s not a keen diver but he adores Sarah. Sarah adores the sea (and Phil), diving, wild swimming, and Phil knew that. He designed her special jewellery for her… in the shape of waves. It was stunning, unique, one of a kind. Just like her. On her wedding day, Sarah was wearing this unusual set: her turquoise ear rings, necklace, bracelet and obviously a matching engagement ring, soon to be joined by a wedding ring.
The summer wedding day
We woke up to the most beautiful, sunny day. I arrived to Sarah’s home a few hours before the ceremony. The bridal preparations were more than relaxed… smiles, getting nails done, hair, make up… The usual things, still so personal. Mum’s helping hand with putting the dress on, Dad’s loving look. So emotional. The day was filled with sentimental moments, symbolic details. VW Beetle, mountains, Sporting Bears Motor Club, orange jumpers and sitting on a tree type of photography, yellow sunflowers and sky blue bridesmaids’ dresses. It was emotional, joyful, just relaxed and perfect, as perfect as it could have been. Have a look for yourself!
