Some celebrations feel like they’ve been plucked straight from the pages of a storybook, and Katy and Willem’s Newhall Estate wedding was exactly that. All the way from the Netherlands, the couple couldn’t have had a more magical wedding weekend! They chose the historic Newhall Estate to host their wedding in Scotland, and what a spectacular choice it was! From the moment they arrived, the estate became the backdrop for an unforgettable wedding weekend filled with love, laughter, and even a touch of celestial magic.
A Magical Beginning
The festivities began the day before the wedding, as Katy and Willem, along with their closest family and friends, arrived for their Newhall Estate wedding. Nestled in the stunning Scottish countryside, this elegant historic house welcomed them with open arms. The evening was filled with music, dancing, and pure joy as the excitement for the big day built up. Yes, that night, Katy and Willem had their wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and rehearsal dance under the most incredible, flattering colours of the universe. How absolutely lucky they were! But what truly made the night extraordinary was a breath-taking display of the northern lights – a rare and magical sight that seemed to bless their union in the most spectacular way. Everyone stayed up to admire the incredible show presented by nature, while I… went to bed early to be full of strength and energy for the wedding.
A Sun-Kissed Outdoor Ceremony – Newhall Estate Wedding
The next day, they all seemed surprisingly fresh and full of energy, apart from a few members of the bridal party and the bride herself, who lost her voice from the previous night’s singing. However, she was recovering fast and was still able to say her personal vows to Willem. Their wedding day was incredibly sunny, and the ceremony was held outside in the beautiful gardens of the stunning Newhall Estate.
Katy, radiant in her flowing gown by Modeca, walked down the aisle towards Willem, whose beaming smile said it all. Their ceremony was a beautiful reflection of their love – filled with warmth, emotion, and a few happy tears.

Garden games, a test for the ‘true Scotsman,’ jumbo Jenga, cigars, whiskey, and all that excitement and more… What an incredible day, what an incredible weekend! Everyone was immersed in the joyous atmosphere.

With the formalities over, it was time for the party to begin! The dance floor filled in an instant, and the couple led the way with their first dance – a beautiful moment of intimacy before the night erupted into a fantastic celebration.
